Welcome!

The brass band Horalka Kraslice was founded back in 1958 and has long been one of the premier ensembles representing authentic Czech brass music. Its repertoire draws primarily from the works of the great masters of the genre, such as Karel Vacek, Jaromír Vejvoda, and others. Throughout its existence, the band has maintained a relatively stable lineup, a testament to the fact that Horalka—unlike many other large musical ensembles—did not cease to exist after 1989.
Since its inception, Horalka has regularly participated in competitions and cultural events, both within the Czech Republic and abroad, earning significant accolades along the way. These include a first-place finish—accompanied by a special distinction—at a competition in Bratislava, as well as a victory and a second-place finish at the "Zlatá křídlovka" (Golden Flugelhorn) competition in České Budějovice. The band has produced approximately 125 recordings for Czech Radio and has appeared on Czech Television as part of the program series *Sólo pro...* (Solo for...). Recently, in collaboration with conductor Karel Hájek from Kraslice, Horalka released its second CD. The ensemble also performs internationally, most frequently in Germany. Over the years, approximately 45 musicians and 10 singers have contributed to the band’s success—individuals who have truly dedicated a significant portion of their lives to the group. Currently, the brass band Horalka is led by bandmaster Josef Novotný and artistic director Antonín Velek; its soloists are Majka Drašarová, Petra Botlíková, and Alexandr Rangl.
In June 2000, Horalka leased the dilapidated Municipal Park (Městské sady) in Kraslice. They have been working to gradually renovate the area, aiming to create a space suitable for visitors out for a stroll as well as for hosting cultural events. Much has already been repaired, including benches, the stage, and other features. Several cultural and sporting events have already taken place there. In 2008, the brass band Horalka Kraslice celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding.
